The LSS-sieving system is made up of the following components:
Ultrasonic converterconverter waveguide, not tunedsieve mesh waveguide, not tunedsupport elements high-grade steel framesshielded HF-cablegeneratorThe sieving system consists of an ultrasonic converter (1) as well as an un tuned waveguide (2) fed through the frame or below the frame through the sieving machine body. The converter waveguide is firmly connected with the sieve mesh waveguide (3). For mechanical support the sieve mesh waveguide is welded to the support elements(5) which are welded to the high-grade steel frames. A shielded HF cable (6) secures the electrical feed line from the converter to the generator.
The Ultrasonic Generator creates high frequency, electric vibrations ranging from 30 kHz – 38 kHz, which are converted in the ultrasonic converter into sinusoidal, mechanical longitudinal vibrations. These vibrations are then carried via the converter waveguide to the mesh waveguide und thus to the sieve mesh, which is thereby forced into a vibration with the frequency and amplitude of the mesh waveguide. Because of the frequency variation from the generator the mesh waveguide can assume every user-defined shape. As the sieve mesh is a poor conductor of ultrasound with the sieve material lying on it, the ultrasound intensity on the sieve mesh decreases with an increasing distance from the mesh waveguide. The sieve material on the sieve mesh additionally dampens the ultrasonic vibrations. The mesh waveguide’s shape can be chosen in such a way to ensure a uniform dispersion of the ultrasound on the sieve mesh. The total sieve area thus becomes an active ultrasonic sieve.
